4 Days from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

We begin our journey from Marrakech, heading toward the High Atlas Mountains. As we cross the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass, we enjoy panoramic views of rugged peaks, winding roads, and traditional Berber villages scattered across the mountains.

This scenic drive is filled with photo opportunities and offers a perfect introduction to Morocco’s natural beauty.

Visit Ait Ben Haddou – UNESCO World Heritage Site

We arrive at the famous Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks. This ancient fortified village is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has been featured in numerous international films.

We explore its narrow alleys, traditional earthen architecture, and climb to the top for stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Explore Ouarzazate – The Gateway to the Sahara

We continue to Ouarzazate, where we visit the historic Taourirt Kasbah and learn about the city’s role in Morocco’s film industry.

We spend the night in a comfortable hotel or riad, enjoying a relaxing evening before continuing our desert adventure.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Valley of Roses – Dades Valley – Todra Gorges

Drive Through the Valley of Roses

After breakfast, we travel through the beautiful Valley of Roses, known for its fragrant rose fields and traditional products. This region offers a unique blend of natural beauty and local culture.

Explore Dades Valley

We continue to the spectacular Dades Valley, famous for its dramatic rock formations and winding roads. The landscape here is both rugged and lush, creating a striking contrast.

Visit Todra Gorges – Towering Canyon Cliffs

In the afternoon, we arrive at the breathtaking Todra Gorges, where massive rock walls rise up to 300 meters high. We take time to walk through the canyon and enjoy the refreshing river that flows through it.

We spend the night near the gorges or in the surrounding المنطقة, enjoying a traditional Moroccan dinner.

Day 3: Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert – Camel Trekking

Journey Toward the Sahara

We continue our journey toward the Sahara Desert, passing through traditional villages and the town of Erfoud, known for its fossil الصناعة and desert heritage.

As we approach Merzouga, the landscape transforms into vast desert plains and golden dunes.

Arrival in Merzouga & Camel Trekking Experience

Upon arrival, we begin our camel trekking adventure into the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes, one of the most spectacular desert landscapes in Morocco.

We ride across the dunes during sunset, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and breathtaking scenery.

Luxury Desert Camp Experience

We arrive at our desert camp, where we are welcomed with traditional hospitality. After a delicious dinner, we enjoy Berber music around the campfire.

The night in the Sahara offers a magical experience under a sky filled with stars. We sleep in comfortable tents surrounded by silence and beauty.

Day 4: Merzouga – Sunrise – Draa Valley – Marrakech

Sunrise Over the Sahara Desert

We wake early to witness the spectacular sunrise over the dunes, a highlight of the entire journey. The changing colors of the sand create an unforgettable visual experience.

After breakfast, we return by camel or 4×4 to meet our driver.

Return Journey via Draa Valley and High Atlas

We begin our return to Marrakech, traveling through the scenic Draa Valley, filled with palm groves and ancient kasbahs.

We continue through the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying new perspectives of the landscapes before arriving in Marrakech in the evening.
