3 Days from Marrakech to Merzouga

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

We begin our journey early in the morning from Marrakech, heading toward the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains. As we drive عبر the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, we witness stunning panoramic views, winding roads, and traditional Berber villages nestled in the mountains.

This scenic route is one of the most beautiful drives in Morocco, offering countless photo opportunities and a true sense of adventure.

Exploring Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah

Our next stop is the legendary Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its ancient earthen architecture. This historic ksar has been featured in many international films and series, making it one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks.

We walk through its narrow alleys, climb to the top for panoramic views, and experience the atmosphere of a place that has stood the test of time.

Visit to Ouarzazate – The Gateway to the Desert

We continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” where desert landscapes meet cinematic history. Here, we can admire the famous film studios and the impressive Taourirt Kasbah.

Drive Through the Valley of Roses to Dades Valley

Our journey continues through the beautiful Valley of Roses, famous for its fragrant rose fields and local products. By late afternoon, we arrive in the spectacular Dades Valley, known for its dramatic rock formations and lush scenery.

We spend the night in a comfortable hotel, enjoying a traditional Moroccan dinner and preparing for the next stage of our desert adventure.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert

Towering Canyon Walls

After breakfast, we head toward the impressive Todra Gorges, where towering cliffs rise dramatically on both sides of a narrow canyon. This natural wonder is one of the most stunning landscapes in Morocco and a favorite spot for photographers and nature lovers.

We take time to walk through the gorge and enjoy the refreshing atmosphere.

Journey to the Sahara via Erfoud

Continuing our route, we pass through traditional villages and the town of Erfoud, known for its fossils and desert culture. The landscape gradually transforms into a true desert environment as we approach Merzouga.

Arrival in Merzouga & Camel Trekking

By late afternoon, we arrive at the edge of the Sahara Desert, where the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes rise dramatically from the horizon. Here begins one of the highlights of our tour: a camel trekking experience across the golden dunes.

We ride camels into the heart of the desert, enjoying the peaceful silence and the incredible beauty of the Sahara at sunset.

Overnight in a Luxury Desert Camp

At our desert camp, we are welcomed with traditional Moroccan hospitality. We enjoy a delicious dinner followed by live Berber music around the campfire.

The night in the desert offers a breathtaking view of the stars, creating a magical and unforgettable atmosphere. We sleep in comfortable tents, fully immersed in the serenity of the Sahara.

Day 3: Merzouga – Sunrise – Draa Valley – Marrakech

Spectacular Sunrise Over Erg Chebbi

We wake early to witness the sunrise over the dunes, one of the most unforgettable moments of the journey. As the sun rises, the الرمال take on warm golden hues, creating a stunning visual experience.

After breakfast, we ride camels back or travel by 4×4 to meet our driver.

Return Journey via Draa Valley and Atlas Mountains

We begin our return to Marrakech, passing through Rissani, Alnif, and the vast Draa Valley, filled with palm groves and ancient kasbahs. The journey continues through the High Atlas Mountains, offering new perspectives on the landscapes we crossed earlier.

Arrival in Marrakech

By evening, we arrive back in Marrakech, concluding our 3 days Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour with unforgettable memories of Morocco’s most iconic destinations.
